Meditation has taken people by storm these days. Perhaps it is good news for most of us who can appreciate and understand how torturous stress can be!

It is a fact known through the ages that man is most comfortable with things that he can accomplish with ease or with just a few complexities. One is endowed with a million things when one is born but it is not until these materialistic things are deprived does he value them. Similarly humans as parents, almost all parents have great expectations from their children and almost always go over board with their affection. This has never been truer than in our case, because as kids and later on even as adults, we have some high impressions about ourselves. And when we do fall short of these, we tend to retaliate, and get restless.
Most people look for "gurus" to give them some sense of direction. Come to think of it, at the first instance you complicate things unnecessarily and then expect the great one to mend the situation. Well, most of us at times don’t even get to know that they are in a situation that requires them to place in all their sensibilities in a single form. This purpose of being with a "guru" is one that entitles a total stranger to help you decipher your life, without you doing it yourself. Well for starters this may seem a good and more interesting way of dealing with the issue but on the other front, it’s quite possible that you become dependant on him. For situations like these it is important that you look at issues by means of introspection. After all you’ve lived through the horror; so who better than yourself to wade you away from troubled waters.
Meditation and You
Meditation in this case can help you in more ways than one! The very essence of meditation is to make you aware of your own prowess and make you feel stronger through no bonds of guilt. Generally if you feel strong, you’d notice that you are feeling so as you’ve just managed to get out of a situation that was almost out of your capacity, strength wise. When you’ve had your share of catharsis, you feel good and you feel strong. Even when you aren’t getting tortured either by your husband or by your own guilt, or perhaps thanks to your PMS, it good to know that planning way ahead to discharge of these is where meditation can help you.
And if you are really that economical in everything that you do, well good news for you as your breath is free, so all you need to do is a control-alt-delete to your brain and erase everything that you have in your mind. Believe me you’ll win, not once but on several occasions! You’ll also realize the importance of many things. The importance of being silent, the importance of doing good to yourself once in a while and finally the importance of being the self controlled and brand new , You. You’ll also realize the importance other negative traits have on you. This would either be a collection of guilt, fear of the unknown, deception, name it and you’ll feel it!
Don’t wait for sunshine or rain to tell you the importance of meditation, just go with the flow for this one, and fast! Don’t think; just act on it and start looking. You’ll also realize that with the frequent use of meditation as a tool, you won’t feel all that stupid either. That there are no bad days or good days,; instead these are just normal days of your life that are flavored with happiness and grief from time to time. A simple breathing technique that embellishes meditation can do that to you!
The highs and lows in life suddenly seem to appear only on the periphery of life. All the talk of wise men and gurus that you found so enchanting and enlightening will simply seem to vanish while you are in the throes of meditation. In fact meditation is also known to keep ailments at bay. Of course it’s best performed in the morning but you can pick and choose your time. The importance of meditation is not in the length of time that you perform but the manner in which you do.
This of course requires you to be disciplined in the act, as in maintaining a time slot, a definite place and your favorite and comfortable position. Like your sleep and eating patterns are monitored by your life routine as a rule, so should these! It’s okay to falter at times and unless you are a professional it would be advisable if you learn the art of meditating. It will not only you’re your mind to living a deeper fulfilling life but also add on that extra special halo that you required! Try it, like everything else in life this is worth it!
