Being a Christian means acknowledging that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior, that he is the son of God, that he died on the cross in order to redeem us of our sins and to lead a life that is in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. A true Christian shall follow the Ten Commandments closely throughout, read the Bible regularly and pray many times a day for salvation. In Matthew 22:36-40 we read that Jesus says, that the two greatest commandments are "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" and ''Love your neighbor as yourself." Thus being a Christian means to serve God by serving all out of Love and willingness and not as because you have to do it by a moral obligation.
To find peace and happiness a Christians are asked to admit their sins to God and prey for absolution. Believing that Jesus Christ died on the cross so that the world may be absolved of its sin is an essential of a proper Christian life. Prayers to God for His blessings are required for finding happiness and bliss. A true Christian must listen to the counsel of the Holy Spirit that resides inside every Christian guiding them all towards God. A Christian must be as meek as a lamb and let the Lord lead them to Him like a shepherd. To be able to listen to the Lord's counsel from within, a Christian must read the Bible daily, go to Church and pray regularly. Priests and counselors are there to aid on better understand Gods dictates and how to listen to the counsel of the Holy Spirit within.
To lead a proper Christian life one needs to be generous, kind and forgiving. A Christian must treat everyone equally. Everybody must be treated humanely and there must be no discrimination on any ground. Christianity preaches the spirit of tolerance, forgiveness and love and asks all to love each other and forego hatred. The tenets of Christianity ask a Christian to forgive even enemies in order to be happy and blessed. A Christian must be generous and kind and come to the aid of people in distress. A true Christian also should spread the teachings of Jesus Christ so that more and more people are able to benefit from them and receive protection and blessings of God by seeking shelter in His religion.
As a true Christian one should treat others in the way one would like to be treated. If one desires to be treated with gentleness and care one must give the same to everyone. A Christian employer should treat employees with that much care as he wishes to receive from God. For, it is written in Colossians 4:1, "And masters, treat your servants considerately. Be fair with them. Don't forget for a minute that you, too, serve a master - God in heaven."
These are among the most important things that Christians are required by their religion to follow in order to live a proper Christian life and be happy and blessed by God.
