Do you wish to be powerful? Power is something most people seek at some point in their life. Some have been very successful, others not.
But how many people seek spiritual power? Don't be fooled. Spiritual power is not the same thing as religious power. There are many powerful religious people, but some of them actually lack spiritual power.
How do we achieve spiritual power? Through God's Holy Spirit. God's Holy Spirit has been described in many ways such as water, fire and even a cloud. (I Kings 8:10-11)
The Holy Spirit is God's Nature. It is through His Spirit that he guides, protects and reveals himself to others. The bible gives numerous accounts of how God uses His Spirit to carry out his work. Psalm 104:30 describes how God used his Spirit to create the heavens and earth.
"When you send your Spirit, new life is born to replenish all the living of the earth."
It was also through God's Spirit that Jesus the Messiah was born. (Matthew 1:18)
The Holy Spirit is truly powerful. If we had this Spirit in us, imagine all the good things we can do. Who knows, maybe we can actually live a sin free life.
So how do we receive God's Holy Spirit? Through repentance and baptism.
"...Each of you must turn from your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit". (Acts 2:38)
The bible states that a Christian is a person who has the Spirit of Christ living in them. (Romans 8:9)
To understand the bible and what it teaches also requires the help of the Spirit. To a live righteous life becomes easier when we have God's Holy Spirit dwelling in us. It is not possible without it. The road will not be easy at times as to live a spiritual life is a lifetime process.
But the journey is certainly worth it and the power of God's Holy Spirit is there to help and encourage us.
