What is Your Source of Truth?

Opinions - every one has one - but when it comes to the matters of life death and eternity - you'd better have something more substantial than just your opinion. What is your source of truth? There is only one reliable source of truth concerning the soul and the spirit, and that is the Bible - the divinely inspired Word of God. Yet most people assume that their opinions are good enough to answer eternal questions.

In 2 Timothy 3:16 it says: "All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

The Greek word translated "inspiration" in this passage literally means "God-breathed." All scripture is breathed from the very mouth of God Himself. God cannot lie. Therefore you can rely on the bible as an infallible source. Notice what else this passage says about scripture.

1. It is profitable for doctrine - meaning it provides the basic tenants of the Christian faith.
2. It is profitable for reproof and correction - meaning it tells us what we should not do.
3. It is profitable for instruction in righteousness - meaning it tells us of the benefits and privileges that belong to us - because once we are born again, we become righteous - right with God. We are able to come into the very throne room of God with our prayers and petitions, knowing that because we have right standing with God - He promises to answer our requests.

Finally - verse 17 tells us the end result of all these tings. "That the man (or woman) of God may be perfect (mature, complete), thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

Your human mind alone will never comprehend the secret of life. Only the Word of God can reveal the answers to all those questions. As you read and meditate upon the Word of God and as you take His Word to heart and allow it to change your perception of God, yourself, your life and the world around you, you will be miraculously transformed. Jesus died to give you abundant life - a superior quality life. The only thing that stands between you and that - is what is going on right now - in your mind. Make a commitment today to renew your mind and the let the transformation of your life begin right now. When you know the truth and act on that truth, God promises, you will be set free!
