Christian church marketing is a smart term used to attract individuals towards a particular church and communicate the events of the Christian church with the outside world. All this has started with the efforts of attracting younger and more diverse audience base towards the churches. In the desperate attempts of doing that, Christian churches have also started organising rock band music events, published pamphlets, increased their on the net presence through blogs and websites, and offered more such options.
Advertising is precisely an option or a tool or marketing through which Christian churches were making their ideas known to the outside one. It also includes taking care of the target audience and targeting them through channels and ultimately making their way back to the church easy. For representative, if your target audience is the local town mortals in Georgia and the membership fees or the events that the Christian church is organizing for the members are all for the elite class, then all the advertising budget and efforts will be in vain. Hence, the marketing managers have to take care of the 360 degree aspects of the church to attract the youngsters by presenting the church in the new light. The light, in which it has never been presented before.
The main purpose behind doing all this was to increase the footfalls and offer them a unique but enjoyable experience. Something of the sort which they could relish the weekend and look forward to the next one. This started in the late 60s and from then on, with more and more money allocated to the church marketing, the scale of such events/ acts goes on increasing.
Now, some churches have their own in-house team of marketing souls, which deals with the media, advertisers and designers, to make a concept or idea more accessible and acceptable to souls. In fact, the actual occupation lies is selling the idea by making it lucrative to the people. Once the idea is conceived, the entire process shifts towards the more beneficial and suitable designing of that idea and how it can be released on to the masses. Will the print be the most effective medium or the TV is the best? All this can be defined on the basis of the target audience and the idea.
As more and more souls are converting from religious to atheist, the original idea of The Lord is not plenty to call for the large congregations. And moreover, in our busy lives, we usually don't go anywhere until or unless we know that a particular event is going on at a particular place and yes we wish to attend that. In passing on this data in the manner likeable by mortals, these marketing agencies play a crucial role.
Yet, the idea of church marketing is not acceptable for some. They believe that it kills the cultural relevancy and the ethics of the place. Some orthodox Christians argue that the so-called pop culture is destroying our culture by mixing in it. But what if, youths only understand pop? Does that mean are they are not a component of our culture?
