A Christian is a believer whose life comes from Christ Jesus. The followers of our Lord Jesus Christ were first called Christians for the first time in this world in Antioch (Acts 11v26) because they resemble the lord Jesus not in their faces but in their hearts, actions and deeds.
If Jesus Christ who we followed knew no sins (2 Corinthians 5v21) and did no sins (1 John 3v5), and in Him there is no sin, then the true Christian should know no sins and do no sins in their thoughts, deed and speeches.
How can that be possible? It can be possible if the Bible says so. Remember in Matthew 5v48,Jesus asked us to ‘Be perfect, just as our father in heaven is perfect’. He is an example of perfection and of total dependence on God Almighty for all things.
If Jesus Christ we follow is perfect, then why should we claim to be a true follower without this quality of perfection some have argued that we should wait patiently until Her is revealed before being perfect or that it is not possible for flesh and blood not to commit sins.
The plan of God is for all believers to be perfect just as He is perfect. if this state is not possible, God would not have promised it (Isaiah 55v11).
Remember in John 7v37-39,the most wonderful promise of our Lord Jesus Christ for believers is the holy spirit of God. He made the same promise in John 14v16-17.If we have the Holy Spirit of God, where will He stay in our bodies? It is in the heart-Galatians 4v5-7, 2 Corinthians 1v20-21.
How will the Holy spirit enter the believers? He can be deposited in the believers from any part of the body.
What is the role of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the believer-Please look at John 16v1-13.Presumably,He will
o Show us how wrong our sins are;
o Help us to accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour;
o Help us in our personal matters;
o Help us to realize the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ;
o Show us things that will happen in future;
o Teach us, sanctify us, and empower us;
o Give us the life of Jesus Christ ( a sinless life);
o Raise us up on the last day, that is give life to our mortal flesh even when we die as He did for our Lord Jesus Christ.-Romans 8v11.
So with the Holy spirit in the life of a believer, the God that created him will now live inside of him.
With God in our lives, who can be against us? -Romans 8v26-27.If God is ion us (Emmanuel), we are more than conqueror. One with God is a majority over satan and over the world. The one that has the Holy Spirit will live, walk and do everything by the Spirit-Galatians 5v16-18, 25.
Only those who are led by the Spirit of God are His children (Romans 8v14) and if you don’t have the Holy Spirit in you don’t belong to Christ Jesus. You may claim to be a Christian but you are definitely not a Christian. You are a pretender, a deceiver and a liar-all these qualities are satanic which invariably means that you are a child of satan and not a child of God.
Please note what the Bible says in 1 John 3v6,8 etc that those who are born of God do not commit sin and cannot sin (King James version).If the word of God says they cannot sin and we want to believe the whole and not part of the Bible,the condition of sinlessness or perfection is a possibility.
Remember your body is the Temple of God Almighty-1 Corinthians 3v16; 6v19.Finally,the book of Romans 8v10 says if Christ Jesus is in you, your body is dead to sin because the Spirit of God is alive in you thus making you the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthian 5v21).
If your body is not yet dead to sin ,pray for the faith and grace to achieve this level of Christianity which is possible for those who diligently follow Jesus Christ our Lord. If you continue to strive for sinlesness in your words, deeds and thoughts, the Lord will obviously answer you and keep His promises.
