Hem of His Garment - Do You Really Need to Have Faith?

Do you remember listening to bedtime stories before you went to sleep at night? Although many years has gone by, I can vaguely remember a few of them until this very day. There was one about touching the hem of his garment; another one was feeding a multitude with two fish and five loaves of bread. In this article we will discuss a main ingredient one must have in order to experience the same kind of miracles people received way back when Jesus walked this earth.

A lot of people struggle with doubt whenever the subject of FAITH come up because there are many interpretations about faith. The bible talks about a woman which had an issue of blood twelve years. All she did was touched the hem of Jesus' garment and she was made whole. Although there were a multitude of people around him, he immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him. (St. Mark 5: 25-34)

Was this woman made whole by touching the hem of his garment? Or was it something else that made her whole once again? In verse 34 of chapter 5, Jesus tells her that it was her FAITH that had made her whole. So the question to ask is, what is faith?

In the book of Hebrews 11:1 the bible says that "Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." This verse plainly says that faith is 'NOW' in the present tense. This is what the woman with the issue of blood had. She had the NOW kind of faith and received the healing she was hoping for.

So, do you really need to have faith? I'll let you answer that question for yourself. Keep in mind in verse 6 of that same 11th chapter of Hebrews says that without faith it is impossible to please him. (God) If your desire is to please the Lord, then you want to develop your faith. In the book of Romans 10:17 the scripture reads: "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

You may not be able to physically touch the hem of His garment but you can have the same kind of faith this woman had. So if you're one who seem to struggle with doubt continually, I pray that this article will get you on the right path to feed your faith and starve your doubts away.
