Paul in his letter to the Corinthians wrote about the members of the body of Christ. (1 Cor. 12:14-25) He illustrates that every member of the church is indeed a member of the body of Christ. Whether you're an ear, a leg, or the heart. Together God arranged the members in the body of Christ to function accordingly.
Many people may not seem like they have pride manifested in them. They actually may always seem down on themselves. They may constantly have an attitude of "self-pity." This is still evidence of pride because one is addressed or focused on self and wants self to be lifted up.
Someone with this kind of pride tends to desire for people to have pity on them because they act like they have no abilities or gifts. For example; perhaps a church member wants to become an elder at a church but that person doesn't have the qualification for eldership. So out of self-pity they may get really down on themselves and hope that others will notice.
Paul's letter gives us an explanation that every church member has a significant rule for the body of Christ. Many times our position as a Christian for the church is not to be a preacher, teacher, elder, or someone with known talents who is involved in church "ministry." But many church members are concealed from public view, they are unnoticed and they are unknown. They are the humble, the meek, the peaceful, and the prayerful. And all is often more necessary for the welfare of the church.
In same way the heart, the lungs, the brain from a body are extremely important for survival. A man can live without an arm, or a leg, but a man cannot live without a heart or a brain. Those that are in a position that seem like they have a great teaching talent, or preaching gift is not to look down on those that simply sit among their congregations. Many times God has these people in certain churches for the spiritual growth or sanctification. We are not to ever look down on the feeble. The old lady who always sits in the back may go unnoticed to many churchmen, but the humility and the prayerful heart may just be what sanctifies other church members through the Holy Spirit.
Also the feeble are not to have an attitude of self-pity or a constant looking down on themselves. But embrace that they are indeed part of a body that needs them for it to function.
